The past two years we've gone to Mexico and it's changed lives. Join us again this year as we go back to Chapala/Ajijic, Mexico one hour south of Guadalajara. Since we've been there and worked with the Church of the Holy Spirit and Love in Action orphanage there has been great changes. There is a ministry there that is powerful and powerfully growing. They have a new facility now for the orphanage use. The church had developed and grown and we want to help them out. I've connected with Anabel, director of Love in Action and the pastors wife and they are planning on us.

There is nothing like connecting with those kids and there is no experience like our street meetings in the poorest nieghborhoods. Two years ago we went to three different neighborhoods where there are many children and presented our puppet show, skits and the gospel message. Most of these kids come from homes full of drug and alcohol abuse. Many made a personal decision for Jesus Christ in their lives and the church has been able to follow up on those decisions.

The trip cost is approximately $1500 and includes airlines, hotels, food and supplies. Please sign up ASAP as we will begin fundraising right away.

This is an experience you don't want to miss, one you will remember for your whole life.

CAMP iMPACT is just that… IMPACT!

There is nothing that connects you better than camp. We put it on ourselves. This is nothing little. Everyone needs to go. Everyone needs to bring a friend. It’s better than summer camp. More spiritually impacting than Youth Group. It’s where we meet with God, He with us and we have great fun doing it.

This year will mimic last year… Speed boats, Ice burg swimming, rock climbing, paintball, boating, games, skits and best of all, JESUS.

I’m working on getting a camp now. The dates are June 7-11 the first week of Summer vacation… no better time to get a spiritual charge. The cost is approximately $150. Sign ups available. Act now!

YOUth LEADership

Teenagers have great potential. Unfortunately that potential is not utilized, instead it stagnates and dies. All people want to be loved and they want to love as well. All people want to feel significant and important to others and all people are important to God, we simply forget that nearly every day.

Our YOUth LEADership at Wellspring Church is all about becoming something that this culture deems not good... but yet is the command and desire of God Himself and is good.

I'm glad for all of you that have taken the initiative to be a leader in our teen ministry. Know that you are valuable. Understand what we're all about...

What we do: We take those that want to be used and use them, develop them, train them. Each one has responsibilities during our youth program like cleaning, attendance, greeting, praise band, sound and audio, and more. They are servants. They also develop their skills in other areas to be used for our puppet ministry, street team ministry and helping with other teenagers. They are trained to live by the truth of God's Word...

We meet on the first Saturday of each month, 10-11:30 a.m. (January's meeting is 1.10.09 however). This will be our 2009 kickoff meeting to get things ready for upcoming events and trips. I need your help. Thank you for helping.

See you this weekend.

The B-I-B-L-E yes, that’s the book for me...’ Go ahead, sing along. You know that song don’t you?

Can you tell me why you stand upon the Word of God?

Is it really true? Can it really be. It’s so old. Surely there is no way that it’s still in one piece . Besides, these stories seem a little far fetched, I mean come on, ‘the Garden of Eden,’ a perfect environment that Adam and Eve were banned from? That seems a little harsh for a loving God.
What about the flood? Could someone who’s never even heard of rain expect a flood? And really, the animals simply walk aboard two by two?

And am I really expected to believe that an old man ran up a mountain and God gave him the Ten Commandments? He was up there long enough how do we know he didn’t write them himself?
How would you defend yourself? Go ahead, give me some good reasons to believe that the Bible is without doubt God’s own Word. A 7th grader had wonderful questions right along these lines.
“Would you personally send someone to Hell?” Well, no of coarse not I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, I responded. His response, “neither would I and I wouldn’t see my mom sending anyone to hell either. His next question was, “then why does God.”
What would you say to that?
Do you know? Do you care enough to find out?

The Jesus Principle...

YOUth,
Today is a good day. I sure hope you feel the same. In case you haven’t checked it out yet I want you all to be aware that I am now in the blogging scene, and I’m looking for your responses. I’m pretty fed up with Facebook… I just can’t seem to figure everything out and there is so much stuff happening on one page that it’s mindboggling for a simple mind like my own. I have a desire to connect you with your friends and others within our youth group and I wanted to make sure that you have a VOICE. (check out our wiredtm blog at www.wiredtm.blogspot.com)

It’s time that teenagers start to learn and follow the Jesus principle. When we start to live like we should (according to Biblical principle) our world will radically change. If we start reading, thinking, searching the Scriptures and conclude with what the truth of God’s Word says we will rise up to be a new generation. But, it has to start now. You can’t wait. There is no cramming for this test. We need a group of teenagers that will live disciplined lives starting now.

We need a group of people that hold to a Christ-honoring Biblical worldview and we need put those people in leadership positions within our government. I’ve read too much that clearly says that people have walked away from, literally are fighting against, what this country was built upon. This great nation was built on God’s Word and if we change that our great nation will cease to be great.

What can you do? STAND. Stand for values. Voice you’re beliefs, your convictions and don’t back down. This means you need to know what values you stand for. Get into a Bible study / Sr. High guys meet every other Thursday night, Sr. High girls every Thursday night / Jr. High guys and girls are every other Friday at our BISTRO CafĂ©. Be here on Sundays for services and our teen ministry and follow up during the week by reading/studying on your own.

Tell me what you’re going to do.

THIS WEEK:

YOUth,
This week Saturday our STREET TEAM begins. We are meeting from 3:00-4:30 every Saturday. Our Wired Teen Ministry Street Team is a team of teenagers that want to make a difference starting right here in our daily lives. We are putting this team together to develop a group that will be able to travel to various big cities. We will begin by hitting the streets of Grand Rapids before we go anywhere else. In the future I’d like to see our team going to local football games and other school events and church events as well as fairs, festivals and other
local events. I have a vision that our Street Team will become something significant for the Glory of God and His Kingdom. Over the next couple years we can develop to such a degree to be used in incredible ways; connecting with ATF and other teen events that come through Grand Rapids.

If you are already signed up plan to be here this Saturday to kick this off. If you are not and would like to be simple write me back and tell me what area you would like to get involved in.

Our Street Team will consist of:

thePULSE is our percussion team. If you’ve ever seen STOMP you’ll understand our goal. However, our ultimate aim is to use our abilities and creativity to draw people into to hear the message of Jesus Christ. thePULSE will draw people in by their unique rhythm driven music, laying down a rhythm for our dance and drama team.

Commotion is our dance and drama team that will hit the streets displaying the message of our awesome God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Portraying where humans are and where Christ will take us Commotion will grip the attention and interest of many. Giving us the opportunity to share our faith with them in a real and personal way.

What does it take to be involved in this Street Team? You must be regularly present Sunday nights, if you go to Wellspring you must also be here for our church services. You must be walking and talking according to Biblical standards and know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and know that you have one. You do not have to be perfect but vulnerable. You do not have to be experienced but willing.

I’m extremely excited about what will come of this as we STAY COMMITED to the cause of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If you are not able or not interested in being a part of our Street Team, join onto the prayer team and pray everyday, continually for our ministry on the streets and all other ministries of Wellspring Church.

Zach
