The Jesus Principle...

YOUth,
Today is a good day. I sure hope you feel the same. In case you haven’t checked it out yet I want you all to be aware that I am now in the blogging scene, and I’m looking for your responses. I’m pretty fed up with Facebook… I just can’t seem to figure everything out and there is so much stuff happening on one page that it’s mindboggling for a simple mind like my own. I have a desire to connect you with your friends and others within our youth group and I wanted to make sure that you have a VOICE. (check out our wiredtm blog at www.wiredtm.blogspot.com)

It’s time that teenagers start to learn and follow the Jesus principle. When we start to live like we should (according to Biblical principle) our world will radically change. If we start reading, thinking, searching the Scriptures and conclude with what the truth of God’s Word says we will rise up to be a new generation. But, it has to start now. You can’t wait. There is no cramming for this test. We need a group of teenagers that will live disciplined lives starting now.

We need a group of people that hold to a Christ-honoring Biblical worldview and we need put those people in leadership positions within our government. I’ve read too much that clearly says that people have walked away from, literally are fighting against, what this country was built upon. This great nation was built on God’s Word and if we change that our great nation will cease to be great.

What can you do? STAND. Stand for values. Voice you’re beliefs, your convictions and don’t back down. This means you need to know what values you stand for. Get into a Bible study / Sr. High guys meet every other Thursday night, Sr. High girls every Thursday night / Jr. High guys and girls are every other Friday at our BISTRO CafĂ©. Be here on Sundays for services and our teen ministry and follow up during the week by reading/studying on your own.

Tell me what you’re going to do.

YOUth,
This week Saturday our STREET TEAM begins. We are meeting from 3:00-4:30 every Saturday. Our Wired Teen Ministry Street Team is a team of teenagers that want to make a difference starting right here in our daily lives. We are putting this team together to develop a group that will be able to travel to various big cities. We will begin by hitting the streets of Grand Rapids before we go anywhere else. In the future I’d like to see our team going to local football games and other school events and church events as well as fairs, festivals and other
local events. I have a vision that our Street Team will become something significant for the Glory of God and His Kingdom. Over the next couple years we can develop to such a degree to be used in incredible ways; connecting with ATF and other teen events that come through Grand Rapids.

If you are already signed up plan to be here this Saturday to kick this off. If you are not and would like to be simple write me back and tell me what area you would like to get involved in.

Our Street Team will consist of:

thePULSE is our percussion team. If you’ve ever seen STOMP you’ll understand our goal. However, our ultimate aim is to use our abilities and creativity to draw people into to hear the message of Jesus Christ. thePULSE will draw people in by their unique rhythm driven music, laying down a rhythm for our dance and drama team.

Commotion is our dance and drama team that will hit the streets displaying the message of our awesome God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Portraying where humans are and where Christ will take us Commotion will grip the attention and interest of many. Giving us the opportunity to share our faith with them in a real and personal way.

What does it take to be involved in this Street Team? You must be regularly present Sunday nights, if you go to Wellspring you must also be here for our church services. You must be walking and talking according to Biblical standards and know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and know that you have one. You do not have to be perfect but vulnerable. You do not have to be experienced but willing.

I’m extremely excited about what will come of this as we STAY COMMITED to the cause of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If you are not able or not interested in being a part of our Street Team, join onto the prayer team and pray everyday, continually for our ministry on the streets and all other ministries of Wellspring Church.

Zach

SHARING YOUR FAITH...

YOUth,

We are without doubt in an up hill battle, the bottom line- it's hard to share our faith. Have you shared your faith this week? If so, how did it go? If not what held you back?

The last post was about what you did today (well, the day you read it). We are surrounded by people that we can talk to every day. Do we actually take the initiative to talk to them? The fact is that most people even want something more in life, they're searching. Why not be the answer to their question? We have the answer, His name is Jesus, it's time we start sharing- me included.
Will you join with me in praying about someone to talk to.
"God I want desperately to be used by You and so I make myself available. I offer my gifts, whether small or great, knowing that you make all things glorious when in Your hands. I pray for the path I walk this week that it would lead me to someone that needed to hear about You; and even if they don't respond allow me the opportunity to share my faith so I can start to identify with my faith." AMEN.
Talk to me.

Yeah, I'm talkin' to you...

YOUth- yeah, I’m talkin’ to you.

I want you to think about your day so far. Maybe you’re reading this during class. Maybe it’s after school at the library or at home… maybe it’s already Monday and you missed everything that happened over the weekend… well, you can still reflect on your day, this day, whatever day that may be when you read this.

What happened today? Where were you? What people did you have contact to? What came to mind? Who came to mind? Anyone?

I want each one of us, including myself, to realize that we can have a great impact on other people on a daily basis. Jesus teaches that we need to deny ourselves take up our cross DAILY and follow Him. Do you know what we would be doing if we were physically following Jesus as the disciples did? Think about it. We would not be loafing around playing video games, watching TV, going to movies, shopping, surfing the net, chatting online or talking on the phone if Jesus were here right now and we were really following Him. We would be fulfilling His mission. That mission is not to satisfy ourselves, it’s to glorify God.

Chances are we went through the whole day today neglecting the fact that Jesus is right here right now, right inside me He moves and breaths. God is always at work around us, did we join Him? Did we reach out to anyone that was around us today? Did you think of someone and neglect to give them a call to encourage them?

Write your experiences. Comment on what's happening around you.

I hope to hear from you soon!
In the service of the KING,
Zach
